In shape...

The main point of going to the gym and at least maintaining your current physical status if not for healthy purposes, it is also for the purpose of excelling in the sport you play. I believe that through the years it has become apparent that in the sporting realm it is an absolute cornerstone to a athletes success and longevity. So i ask myself why is it that we have to force other player to even think about going to the gym. Its a baffling thing to see and hear...

60 Mins...60 Miles

That has been a major factor in the fight against the new kids on the block. Trying to teach them that every game and every minute is a marathon, not a sprint... Somehow the team need to get itself back on track and need to be able to start gelling and become one unit. That what we do is not for individuals but rather for a team.

Again with the excuses...

I don't believe that what an organization should do is leave things to the last minute that is very unprofessional. First is the look and overall thought the community and league will have and secondly and more importantly to myself is pride for your team, your school and your home town...

Start of politics...

This is what always happens and what is always done in almost every sport. The team has meetings that last for hours and the hours add up. They speak about what the goals are and what the processes will be in the beginning. The guidelines are lightly drawn out. But like many coaches will say... there will come a time when we the coaching staff have to shorten the bench to win the game. We just want to win a hockey game! haha All I know is that its old and the main reason for me not trying my very most every game every shift because my play will not reflex my playing time...

Thinking about it all

Thinking about everything that has unfolded has brought nothing but disgust to me. The emails and the snitching that has come to the forefront of the team's mind has just become overwhelming. I wonder why i even decided to play this year and whether it was worth the time and the effort to do so. I know that i would love to continue if the situation pursues its current course. I know that i want it to change and to enjoy my time left at the school and with the guys. But as for right now i feel sorry for thinking that it could be anything different.

Looking at the situation for an outsider its obvious that I would say to leave it all behind and don't even take a second thought about it you have bigger fish to fry. I think its time for me to leave the hockey to the past and enjoy the future...

The Speach that propeled a national championship...

I don't know what to say really.
Three minutes
to the biggest battle of our professional lives
all comes down to today.
Either we heal
as a team
or we are going to crumble.
Inch by inch
play by play
till we're finished.
We are in hell right now, gentlemen
believe me
and
we can stay here
and get the shit kicked out of us
or
we can fight our way
back into the light.
We can climb out of hell.
One inch, at a time.

Now I can't do it for you.
I'm too old.
I look around and I see these young faces
and I think
I mean
I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make.
I uh....
I pissed away all my money
believe it or not.
I chased off
anyone who has ever loved me.
And lately,
I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror.

You know when you get old in life
things get taken from you.
That's, that's part of life.
But,
you only learn that when you start losing stuff.
You find out that life is just a game of inches.
So is football.
Because in either game
life or football
the margin for error is so small.
I mean
one half step too late or to early
you don't quite make it.
One half second too slow or too fast
and you don't quite catch it.
The inches we need are everywhere around us.
They are in ever break of the game
every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us
to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.
Cause we know
when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.

I'll tell you this
in any fight
it is the guy who is willing to die
who is going to win that inch.
And I know
if I am going to have any life anymore
it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch
because that is what LIVING is.
The six inches in front of your face.

Now I can't make you do it.
You gotta look at the guy next to you.
Look into his eyes.
Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you.
You are going to see a guy
who will sacrifice himself for this team
because he knows when it comes down to it,
you are gonna do the same thing for him.

That's a team, gentlemen
and either we heal now, as a team,
or we will die as individuals.
That's football guys.
That's all it is.
Now, whattaya gonna do?
